Miranda's Bio:
Miranda Martinez has been heavily involved in various areas of media since 1998. As an actress, Miranda has appeared in many regional and national commercials as well as independent films. Behind the scenes, she has performed various crew positions, ranging from production coordinator, to casting assistant/director to 1st AD. Most recently Miranda worked as a Casting Assistant for the Texas Casting for Lone Ranger (with Johnny Depp) and The Last Stand (with Arnold Schwarzenegger) and in the casting department for the tv show Chase - Season 1 (NBC), which shot in Dallas in 2010-2011. All working directly under renowned casting director Jo Edna Boldin, CSA (True Grit, Brothers, Sunshine Cleaning, No Country for Old Men, 3:10 to Yuma, among many others). She played "Lisa Mendoza" in The Ouija Experiment, which is the fifth La Luna Entertainment project in which Miranda has been involved and premiered at The Inwood Theatre in Dallas in February 2012. Miranda's next project is a supporting role in director Carlos Bido's new film "Finding Hope", shot in the Spring of 2012.
In 2001 Miranda co-founded Martice Enterprises with her producing partner Marco Rodriguez. Martice was a theatre production company that produced several award-winning and critically acclaimed stage plays; including the Dallas stop of Rick Najera’s Latinologues, starring famous Latin comedian Eugenio Derbez, which ended up performing for on Broadway. Martice's original play "Heaven Forbid(s)!" won Outstanding New Play by the Dallas-Fort Worth Theater Critics Forum Awards. Miranda just founded her own film production company called Barú Films, currently seeking funding for 8 projects.
Miranda currently trains in Los Angeles with Gary Austin (Founder and Original director of The Groundlings). She also trained in Dallas at REACT Studio, Four Day Weekend Improv, and with top casting directors Jo Edna Boldin, CSA & Toni Cobb-Brock. Miranda is represented in Los Angeles by Coast to Coast Talent and in Houston by Pastorini-Bosby Talent. Originally from the Republic of Panama, Miranda arrived in the US only speaking Spanish. Five years later, she graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from Southern Methodist University. She is of Chinese, Spanish, Puerto Rican and Jamaican descent.
